Melissa is from a small town in Northern Ontario, Canada who originally immigrated in 2001 to attend De Anza College in Cupertino, California. She made her way to sunny San Diego in 2004 after graduation where she discovered recruiting and her primary career path over the past 20 years since then. The bulk of her experience within the staffing industry, running full desks as well as in recruitment positions, has focused on professional roles from Operational/Administrative support, HR, Clinical Research, Supply Chain/Logistics to Finance & Accounting in the San Diego Marketplace. She additionally has an intimate understanding of client needs and processes having managed a Talent Acquisition team at a SaaS late-stage startup recruiting for global (EMEA) Account Executives, Software Engineers, DevOps, and C-Suite positions.

Her passion for helping people and matching candidates and clients with life-changing opportunities has driven her to tackle new verticals and roles with enthusiasm over the years in a variety of industries. She is excited to have crossed paths with a unique company and opportunity like Boutique Recruiting where she can continue to do what she loves and be of service.  Personally, Melissa has an artistic soul having been an accomplished concert pianist in the Canadian Royal Conservatory in her youth, and spends much of her downtime reading/writing, playing/listening to music, as well as visual arts. She is also a mom of two and you can frequently find her enjoying the many parks throughout San Diego County with her littles.
